Arriving Home:
I'm no mind reader, but I imagine it was exciting and a little stressful for Beasley to come home. She did great in the car for a whole 2hrs!! I hope she stays as a good car dog. Not once did she seem to pine for her mother or siblings. Which was very reassuring to us. We thought that would be the hard part, but her mother has been in her own kennel for a couple of weeks so she’s used to not having mumma around. As for her brothers and sisters… I am sure that she misses them, but likes that she doesn't get jumped on all over by them.
As soon as we arrived home we had people to meet! I have read how important proper socialization is so we made sure we had some of our family members home ready to meet her. We took so long at the breeders that everyone was practically waiting in the lobby for us. She was very calm throughout, not skiddish and she is very good when she gets picked up. Watching her explore was very amusing. She took to her bed right away, she kept falling off of it though. She has that cute puppy clumsiness. Not long after meeting everyone she fell right asleep, half on her bed, half on the floor. When she was in a deep sleep we put her into her crate…just as an experiment. We left the crate door open and left the room. She was a little disoriented when she woke up but no crying.
Next weekend we plan to introduce Beasley to the other dogs in our family, Bailey and Luke. This weekend took a lot out of us we were both exhausted especially Sunday night. Thank goodness I had Monday off to rest up...and by rest up I mean get up early with the dog and play with her for hours until she finally fell asleep during The View. I'm such a good house wife.
